ITCFSAN (International Training Centre for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition) in collaboration with JUBILANT food works Organized an Online Training Session for State Food Labs and Food Safety Officers of West Region, North Region, and South Region on 4th Dec 2022, 6th Jan 2022, and 18th Jan 2022 Respectively.
The inaugural session started with the West region and was addressed by Ms. Sheela Gauli, CLA, MP FSSAI, Ms. Subhaprada Nishtala, Director in charge ITCFSAN, and Mr. Pratik Pota, CEO & Whole Time Director, Jubilant FoodWorks Ltd. Dr. Harinder Oberoi, Advisor QA, FSSAI delivered the Key-note Address for a session organized for the west region. Followed by that the session were conducted for NR & SR and were initially addressed by Mr. Avinash Kant, President – Supply Chain & amp; Quality Assurance, Jubilant FoodWorks Ltd. & Ms. Subhaprada Nishtala, Director in charge ITCFSAN. Shri. Rajesh, Regional Director, FSSAI NR, and Shri. P Muthumaran, Regional Director, FSSAI SR delivered Inaugural Addresses for the North and South region respectively.
This online course was designed to facilitate the participants to learn and understand the sampling techniques and requirements with high-risk categories of foods commodities with respect to domestic purposes.
The Training program were focused on the following topics: -
- Sampling And Sample Preparation Techniques for Chemical Testing
- Sample preparation strategies for Pesticide Analysis in Rice including a demo video
- GLP and General Requirements for Data handling.
The training program imparted deep knowledge & understanding of sampling procedures to
the FSOs and
intended to achieve the following Goals: -
The training program for all three regions were led by senior experts from industry and regulations. Dr. Priti Amritkar, Director – Labs, Envirocare Labs delivered the technical session on “Sampling and Sample Preparation Techniques for Chemical Testing”, Mr. Prasanth K.P, Junior Scientific Assistant, EIA Mumbai, ITCFSAN presented “Sample preparation strategies for Pesticide Analysis in Rice including demo video” while Mr. S. S. Raghav, Jt. Director, NFL, Ghaziabad, promptly delivered a technical session on “GLP and General Requirements for Data handling”.
The training was graced by more than 100 participants from more than 50 state-approved food testing and public-health laboratories & more than 50 State & Central Food Safety Officers.
ITCFSAN intends to conduct Such training sessions for instrumental analysis and food analysis in the future with Major Focus on Hands-on training as per the feedback received from participants. “Online Training Session for State Labs on Sampling Techniques of food commodities for the domestic purpose” for the East region will be conducted in the month of March.
