ITC-FSAN is a unique training facility that is a testimony for an international collaborative effort exemplifying the importance of partnerships and collaborations. The centre is established through an alliance between food regulatory bodies of India - viz., Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) and Export Inspection Council (EIC) - and Global Food Safety Partnership (GFSP), an initiative of the World Bank. The alliance marks the coming together of prominent stakeholders with a purpose to ensure global safety and nutritional quality of food in the supply chain

EIC

The Export Inspection Council (EIC), under the Ministry Of Commerce and Industry, was setup by the Goverment Of India under Section 3 of the Export ( Quality Control and Inspection ) Act,1963 (22 of 1963), in order to ensure sound development of export trade of India through Quality Control and Inspection and for matters connected thereof.


FSSAI

Food Safety and Standards Authority of India is an autonomous body established under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Goverment Of India. The FSSAI has been established under the Food Safety and Standards Act,2006 which is consolidating statue related to food safety and regulation in India and responsible for domestic and import regime.

GFSP

The Global Food Safety Partnership (GFSP) is an innovative, public-private initiative dedicated to supporting and promoting global cooperation for food safety capacity building.

GFSP is uniquely able to asses food safety systems and propose systems-based interventions to address specific food sector needs and prioritize hazards and threats.

ITCFSAN, the vision and mission statement

ITC-FSAN envisions to become a leading centre of global excellence in human capacity building on food safety and applied nutrition.

ITC-FSAN is dedicated to create, promote and foster individual and organizational effectiveness by developing and offering an array of innovative and diverse programs in support of the stakeholder development, partnerships, and organizational enrichment
