1) A3: 25 Designated Officers are Full time and 13 has Additional Charge. 2) A3: Recruitment of 16 Designated Officers is at the final stage of interview level with Gujarat State Public Commission (GPSC), Govt. of Gujarat. 3) A3: Recruitment schedule is released for 8 Senior Food Safety Officer (SFSO) by State Public Service Commission and date for prelims is fixed in November 2022. In addition to that recruitment for 59 Food Safety Officers also initiated by State Service selection board, GSSSB (Gujarat Subordinate Service Selection Board). 4) A15: Commissioner of Food Safety, Gujarat has attended all the CAC meetings and being the member of Food Authority Committee and has attended all the Food Authority meetings scheduled by FSSAI in the FY21-22.

1) B1: Circle offices had conducted 351 License and Registration camps during which 2,214 Licenses and 11,567 Registrations were issued. 2) B3 and B7: Due to some issues in FoSCoS mapping, many Lic./Reg. were auto-generated. The mail regarding the same is forwarded to FSSAI WR Technical sections on 20/11/21 and 16/02/22, communicated telephonically and the same is discussed in CAC meeting also. The major issue related to mapping is prevalent in Municipal Corporations area. 3) B15: Consumer grievances issue falls under 2 basic categories, as following, (A) Designated Officers submitted all the reports and closed the grievances, DO dashboard shows NIL pending grievances but “National level portal shows 32 grievances. (B) Some of the Grievances fall under the Central licensing Authority, also forwarded to State Authority which further not be forwarded to CLA by State Authorities. 4) FDCA, Gujarat had recruited 2 persons for Helpdesk to cater wide range of queries faced by FBOs in License/Registrations and common persons for food related complaints. Earlier one number is working i.e. 18002335500. Two new Helpdesk numbers +919099012166 and +919099013116 started. These numbers are also available on Whatsapp and system was prepared in a way that without any human interruption autobot can send answers to the predefined queries. 5) Helpdesk of Gujarat had handled 3302 query calls and 376 query mails in FY 21-22.

1) Number of Samples received includes Enforcement and Surveillance samples and amongst 24,195 Total Samples, 15775 Samples are enforcement Samples. 2) As some amount of money provided under MoU with FSSAI, 2814 Enforcement and Surveillance Samples were analysed in 4 Private Laboratories in the State. These labs are NABL accredited and Notified under FSSAI, for this purpose 8 Food Analysts of Private Laboratories are notified by CoFS, Gujarat.

1) Trainings of regulatory staff have been conducted through Nutritional International regarding role of fortification and iodised salt. All the Dos, SFSOs and FSOs of Gujarat including higher officials of FDCA, Gujarat had participated in the training. 2) The inter departmental meeting had also been concluded in the presence of Higher Officials from FSSAI, Higher Officials from FDCA, Gujarat and Personnel from NETPROFAN Gujarat Chapter. Various officials from ICDS, Food Corporation of India, Mid-Day meal Public Distribution System were also the part of it.

1) Pink book, Dart book, Yellow book and Companion book for Magic box were translated in local language (Gujarati) for better understanding of local people and broadcasted on various channels for enhanced reach to the public. 2) 3 Quickies provided by FSSAI were dubbed in Local Language (Gujarati) and broadcasted in all radio channels. 3) 51,092 Anganwadi workers, 3,110 ANMs, and 38,793 ASHA workers trained under Eat Right Tool Kit initiative BISAG medium that covers almost all the ground staff workers regarding the same. 4) Live programs were conducted regarding Demonstrations of Magic boxes during the Diwali Festive. 5) With co-ordination of CERC the college students are trained for food adulterations food safety and demonstrations of magic box are done. 6) Students perusing Food forensics and food technology courses at National Forensic Sciences University were trained regarding Licenses and Registration process and Packaging and Labelling norms of FSS Act-2006 and its amendments. 7) FBOs using Used Cooking Oils were trained and made aware to submit Used Cooking oil for the RUCO initiative and with the help of these initiatives, Gujarat is able to collect highest RUCO across the India. 8) NETPROFAN Gujarat Chapter has done lots of activities for Food Fortification and consumer awareness during 2021-22. 9) With the support of GAIN, Gujarat has trained all the oil manufacturers for fortification of Oils and Sampling is done by GAIN for quality check. 10) More than 80 Awareness programmes and meetings are conducted with local NGOs and associations. Commissioner of Food Safety, Gujarat sensitized Tea processors and FBOs at meeting held by tea associations, Separate seminars and meetings are Labelling and other regulatory provisions with reference to Sweet and Farsan Associations, in additions to which students of Food Technology and Food related curriculum are also trained and enlightened with the efforts of Officials of FDCA, Gujarat. 11) FDCA, Gujarat has total 22 Food Safety on Wheels and for efficient use of these FSWs 22 Chemists, 22 Multi-Tasking Staffs (MTS) and 22 Drivers are recruited. Also, 9 Internet Connectivity Dongles were procured for uploading IEC and Testing data on FSW portal and purchase of remaining 13 dongles are in process. 12) 6 Districts had contacted Robin Hood Army (an NGO works for distribution of Surplus Food) for Save Food Share Food Initiative and held meeting with Hotel and Restaurants to prevent food being wasted in their respective districts. 13) Under MoU 20-21 with the support of FSSAI, New Delhi, FDCA, Gujarat has procured 190 Tablets which are distributed to FSOs and SFSOs. Tablets are being used for issuance of License and Registrations on the spot/in camps, inspection through FoSCoRIS and various trainings. 14) FDCA, Gujarat had conducted training programs to train all their FSW chemists. They were also trained by the FSSAI organised training programs. 15) World Consumer Day was celebrated in various districts of Gujarat by creating awareness in normal consumers. 16) Under Eat Smart Cities Initiative from Gujarat 6 cities had participated and among them Surat and Rajkot were selected as one of the finalists and they will represent the cities during Commonwealth Games, Birmingham, London. 17) FDCA, Gujarat had ensured that during the festivals and melas all the citizens of Gujarat get safe food hence instructed all their field officers to draw samples accordingly and check strictly during the festivals and melas. Also, awareness created among the people by TV programs, IEC activities by FSWs, etc. during festivals and melas. 18) FDCA, Gujarat had trained their field officers for Fortification of Food at various instances. 19) DOs of various districts coordinated with RAC to clear cases that can be disposed under Section-69, that can reduce pendency of Adjudication cases in the State. 20) In the year 2021-22, FDCA, Gujarat had recovered Fine of Rs. 5,42,99,080 in Adjudication cases and Compound Offences. 21) Three districts of Gujarat i.e. Dahod, Gir-Somnath and Palanpur had organised Eat Right Mela and Walkathon as part of Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav to create awareness in Students and Common people. 22) Majority of Field Officers were posted at Oxygen Monitoring Centre and Oxygen Suppliers during the 2nd wave of COVID-19 in the state. 23) Field Officers of Gujarat had done more than 600 VVIP Duties and drawn more than 7000 samples. 24) In coordination with Merico India Pvt. Ltd., this office had distributed Hand Sanitizers, Chyavanprash and many other things to COVID Warriors during 2nd wave of COVID-19.
